Webmasters Teams take great delight in announcing the addition of archive and ftp space on our iigs.org server!

The IIGS™ now has several directories established and logs and various historian files as well as IRC logs uploaded to this space. All IIGS™ teams are invited to use this space and to request uploading of files or logs for retrieval purposes.

The URL for anyone wishing to visit the ftp site is:

The transfer of IRC Team Channel logs has been completed and they can now be found at

ftp://www.iigs.org/pub/iigs/archives/IRC/

I have also transferred historians files to:

ftp://www.iigs.org/pub/iigs/archives/Historians/

Here you will find the history of the formation of the IIGS™ from its' beginning to September 1997. These archives replace the original archives and ftp site at The Olive Tree.

I hope all teams will take advantage of this space and gather some historical files, important data, logs of meetings, etc. for uploading.

The list of names and projects below is current as of April 25/98

• Setup and Maintenance of team pages for Programming Team - Maintain all IIGS™ passwords and an accurate accounting of same Encourage team leaders to get their second level entry pages online, distribute passwords to uploaders and assist teamleaders and uploaders in the use of PGP to distribute that password Co-ordinate with Ben (SysAdmin) for second level directories and password distribution to team leaders via PGP Train new team members who wish to learn more html coding and page setup.
• Recruitment of new team members
• Co-ordinate with other teams to make their pages more efficient.
• Maintainer of Archive space - eg the IRC log archives, and Historian Archives. I recently established a new archive and ftp site on the IIGS.org server and all files have been transferred. I am hopeful that soon all teams will be represented in this space.
• Presently working with Global Village on the establishment of mailmerge as a system for displaying submissions to the B/D/M Exchange for USA and other countries.
• Represent Webmasters Team on the teamleaders list

Pam Middleton-Lee

• Public Relations Co-Team Leader-ongoing public postings of events on IIGS™, search engine postings including worldwide & languages other than english, mail lists, etc. Special promotion projects: University, IRC, as needed. Mission Statement, Web Page
• Library-Forwarding worldwide links or ethnic specific to be added to the library links.
• University-Liaison-Recruitment of new members, instructors.
• IRC-posting of IRC events on IIGS™ via IRC mail list, and genealogy lists ie: Roots-L, Gensmc-L, New-Gen-URL, Net Announce, etc. Possible permanent postings on web sites.
• Talent Scouts-ongoing Member recruitments, last being Jan Daamen just elected Co-Teamleader of Translation Team. Working on some projects with Team Leader. Awaiting Assignments: Membership-proofreading, various tasks I can help, recruiter. Webmasters-same, limited expertise on page construction, but willing to help with anything, can view pages and check links, recruiter Newsletter-volunteer, recruiter

Paula Wiegand

I have been working on keeping Lorine busy with the GV stuff! I am "supervising" the creating of a site map for our pages. Apart from that I have been kept busy with the webring and BDM exchanges.

Jim Eakins

I am presently the Webmaster in Training for the Membership Team, under the guiding hand of Pat and Lorine and would be delighted to assume the duties of Webmaster for the Membership Team
