1. A "portability kit". That is Perl and C++ modules which read configuration files to adapt programs to the machine they are running on. This will allow development of stuff to run at Rootsweb on team member's own machines, or stuff that can run anywhere. Supported platforms will be Win32 and Unix (initially at least), Mac, too, if we can find someone to do it. Note that Apache 1.3 runs on Win32, as does Perl, so this should make it possible for Windows users to develop for Unix platforms.2. Carsten wants email processing stuff for the translators.
3. Harry and Ben have been working on the IRC schedules (via the web [Harry] and IRC [Ben]).
4. The Membership database.
5. The Voting system [a project Ben has 90% completed].
6. Something to manage the surname lists for IRC channels.
1. Client/server genealogical databases/search engines (Ben's hobby horse).2. Something to replace the traditional GED2HTML from GEDCOM found on the 'net.
3. Program to store Research as it is found e.g. Censuses, BMD records. This is a non-Web utility initially but should work with Future Project 1 to enable the data to be accessed on the Web in future.
