Global Village/WebMasters
The Global Village Team in conjunction with WebMasters have launched the IIGS™ members Web Ring. The work put in by these two teams has been remarkable and has resulted in the creation of a useful Members Benefit for the IIGS™.

Webmasters/Translation
The Webmasters and Translation Team have done a remarkable job in producing the second level pages of the IIGS™ Home Site. The notices coming from these teams regarding new language pages being created and uploaded have been coming at a tremendous rate. These teams are rapidly moving the IIGS™ pages to the stage where they are truly of an International character.

IRC Team and Channel Hosts
The popularity and internet profile of the IIGS™ Themed Chat Sessions are increasing as a result of the dedicated IRC Team and the hosts of individual channels. Participation levels are rising all the time with the #GenUK channel having 16+ participants on Sunday 18 January and the #Australia channel recording 20 participants. These two channels will be presenting a special combined session on 7 February. It will be interesting to see just how many participants this session will attract.

IRC Team is also pleased to announce that Diana Hansen will be hosting genealogy sessions on the IIGS™ IRC server 8PM EST, Sundays and Thursdays in #cert. Diana tells us that her channel sessions will cover online question and answers sessions to discuss all aspects of genealogy research and methodology, open to everyone who would like to participate. The sessions will be moderated by an accredited genealogist and the current host of the WorldGenWeb. We will discuss various types of records, record keeping, and records specific to different countries which are typically difficult to do research in such as Ireland, Russia, Hispanic countries, and Africa.

If your team has received peer acclaim or set new team records we can include your achievements in future Newsletter Team Highlight pages. Email your Teams achievements and plaudits to both Holly Fee-Timm and Scott Brown of the Newsletter Team and we will give your Team the public recognition it deserves. (Don't forget to let the PR Team know as well - after all it is their role to shout our achievements to the world)
