There is a natural tendency for most of us who are living to influence others, or to be influenced by others around us. To think about those who are dead, and especially labor to find out about them is a most mysterious study. I once after having given much time to the genealogical process in my community asked myself what good was being done, why all this energy for those who are dead and gone, why could I not see the value in it all. Most of all, why could I not see the true purposes of this genealogy work but was still receiving the inspiration and desire to continue.
Then it happened. I received a moving experience in a most unusual place, the state prison, while I was serving as a volunteer there. I received a spiritual manifestation that has since been very personal to me, but probably only understood by a few. This experience kindled my desire to seek for the real purposes of Genealogy Work, and drove me to read and search for my own ancestry. The time spent thereafter has become more enjoyable, more rewarding and more understandable to me. I now know that the dead are not dead but still living; they are in another place. That place has been described in detail by many religious leaders since the days of Adam and Eve, but this knowledge is only available to those who seek after it.
