IIGS Newsletter - March/April 2000
The IIGS Newsletter classified section is for IIGS teams in need of volunteers. Please send your classifieds to pbonnar@win.bright.net. Advertisements for volunteers will run in each issue and will be pulled upon request by teams. The newsletter also will post links to help wanted sections of other online genealogical organizations.
The Internet Family History Association of Australia (IFHAA) still has a number of volunteer positions vacant. See http://www.historyaustralia.org.au/ifhaa/structur.htmThe IFHAA was launched on 1 January 1999 and now has over 400 members. Since launch the site has grown from it's original 26 pages to now consist of almost 200 pages with a significant number of new pages and additional categories still to be added. IFHAA also runs a number of genealogy related Mailing Lists. Membership and site access is free to all and is open to people of all nationalities with an interest in Australian Family History. The IFHAA is currently in the process of incorporation as a not for profit organisation and is totally funded by donations. We plan to - in the year 2000 - commence a Family History Scholarship scheme (funds permitting). Application will be open to IFHAA members who are currently enrolled in formal History/genealogy and or Family History studies through a recognised educational institution. More details will be made available once the legalities have been resolved.
