IIGS-ANNOUNCEMENTS
Subscription to this list is -required- for IIGS members.
The purpose of this list is to inform IIGS members with one message (instead of multiple ones) of situations, events, etc. that affect IIGS. When you unsubscribe from this list, you are no longer considered a member of the organization. There is no Digest version for this list.
IIGS-GENSOC
This list is for general genealogy discussions that do not fit on the other IIGS lists. Open to IIGS members only.
IIGS-GLOBAL
This is a list for the Global Village Team volunteers to plan and discuss the growth and future of the Global Village. Global Village Representatives are citizens of the country they represent, providing national interface, in native tongue, to the main IIGS site. Open to IIGS members only.
IIGS-INET
This list was originally called INET-GENSOC. The purpose and focus of this list is IIGS organizational discussions that do not "fit" on any other IIGS Team. Open to IIGS members only.
IIGS-IRC
This is for discussion of Internet Relay Chat issues. The Team's mission is to support all who want to use the IIGS IRC Net for genealogy related activities.
IIGS-LISTOWNERS
This list is for IIGS mailing list management and related issues. The Team is responsibile for the management of the mailing lists owned by IIGS, including protocols, advice, and development of the lists for the advancement of IIGS. Open to IIGS Listowners Team members only.
IIGS-MEMBERSHIP
The Membership Team enrolls, welcomes, and ensures that members are kept abreast of all current, continuing, and new benefits available to them as a result of becoming a member of The International Internet Genealogical Society (IIGS). To join the IIGS, please visit our explanation page and fill out the membership form. The IIGS MEMBERSHIP list is open to IIGS Membership team members only to discuss internal customer service.
IIGS-NEWSLETTER
This list is for continuing committee discussions on the form and content of the monthly IIGS Newsletter. The list is open to IIGS Newsletter team members only.
IIGS-PROJECTS
The IIGS Projects Team will identify and track active and proposed genealogy projects which exist under the aegis of IIGS. This information will be made available to all IIGS membership. The Project Team will also furnish information concerning available resources, and the processes for applying for them.
IIGS-TEAMLEADERS
This list is where each TeamLeader of IIGS can communicate with the other Teamleaders. Members of this list are restricted to Team Leaders.
IIGS-TRANSLATORS
Volunteers translate the IIGS pages into various languages to reach as many people in the international genealogical community as possible. This list is used by the translators to coordinate their efforts.
IIGS-UNIVERSITY
This list is for team discussions. The Team provides free on-line courses that range from introductory genealogy classes for beginners to the more complex classes for experienced family researchers.
This list is for the use of the Team providing World-wide links for genealogy research.
This list is used by the Webmaster Team which is responsible for the standardization of the IIGS web pages. They provide assistance to other IIGS teams in all areas of web page design and maintenance. Open to IIGS members only.
