Topography: The great Andes mountain system extends for more than 8,900
kilometers (5,500 miles) along the entire length of western South America,
from the Caribbean coast in the north to Tierra del Fuego in the south.
The Andes form a formidable natural wall separating the narrow western
coastal region from the rest of the continent. This territory and its resources are shared by five countries: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile and are inseparable in their historical progression.
An introduction to the Mayan Culture helps us to understand the Native Americans of this area.
Non-European
and Non-African peoples and their culture, songs, music, language,
pictures and stories.
