Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is an internet medium whereby users may participate in on-line real-time conversations (chat) within rooms (channels) which are resident on IRC servers. Groups of IRC servers are linked together in networks (nets) such as EFNet, NewNet, and DalNet, to name but a few. IIGS™ IRC presently takes place on a single server net (irc.IIGS.org) which is hosted by Rootsweb.
